Day-by-Day Journey
Arrival in Arusha
When you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your driver-guide will be waiting with a warm welcome. A short transfer takes you to your lodge in Arusha, where you can relax after your flight and soak in the fresh mountain air. The town sits at the foot of Mount Meru and serves as the ideal starting point for safaris. Spend your first evening enjoying dinner and resting before the adventure begins. Tomorrow, the wild landscapes of Tanzania await you.
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you head out to Tarangire National Park, known for its giant baobab trees and huge herds of elephants. The park is alive with wildlife, from zebras and giraffes to predators such as lions and leopards. You will spend the day exploring these beautiful landscapes, with picnic lunch in the wild. In the evening, settle at your lodge for dinner and a quiet night in nature.
Tarangire Game Drive & Walking Safari
This morning, enjoy a guided walking safari for a closer look at Tarangire's plants, tracks, and smaller creatures. Walking through the bush gives you a new perspective, different from the safari vehicle. The golden light of evening makes this drive especially beautiful. Return to your lodge for dinner and stories around the fire.
Journey to the Serengeti
After breakfast, begin the scenic drive towards the Serengeti, passing through the rolling hills of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you enter the Serengeti, the endless plains open up before you, home to incredible numbers of wildlife. Keep your eyes open for giraffes, antelopes, and predators along the way. By afternoon, you'll reach your camp inside the park. After dinner, fall asleep to the distant roars of lions and the sounds of the wilderness.
Serengeti Safari - Following the Migration
Spend the whole day exploring the Serengeti, focusing on the spectacular Great Migration if you're traveling in season. Depending on the time of year, you may see vast herds of wildebeest crossing rivers or calving in the southern plains. The drama of predator and prey is ever-present, with cheetahs, lions, and leopards always nearby.
Serengeti Game Drive or Balloon Safari
At sunrise, you may choose an optional hot air balloon safari to see the plains from above, or enjoy a traditional morning game drive. Either way, the Serengeti's beauty will take your breath away as the animals begin their day. After lunch, continue exploring different areas of the park, seeking out elephants, buffalo, and large prides of lions. Back at camp, enjoy dinner under the African night sky.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Begin your day with a final Serengeti game drive before heading towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive offers changing scenery, from wide plains to lush highlands filled with Maasai villages. Arrive at your lodge near the crater rim in the afternoon, where the views are truly unforgettable.
Ngorongoro Crater & Departure
Today you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called Africa's "Garden of Eden." The crater floor is home to lions, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and even the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool as you take in the breathtaking scenery. After your game drive, ascend and drive back towards Arusha. In the late afternoon, transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight or continue with a Zanzibar beach extension.
